I was born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. After living in several states across the country, Florida became home in 2019. I am so grateful for all that Florida has to offer in raising my two boys, Asher and Bennett. We are endlessly swimming, playing, and exploring outside throughout the year. We enjoy hitting the slopes out west in the winter, and escaping the heat for the summer at Chautauqua Lake in a small town in New York. I love the early childhood age and am passionate about creating lifelong learners.

I am a South Florida native, and married to another. I am a go-getter who will always take on a new project for the good of our students. I am a passionate member of my church and my community — volunteering, helping, and cheering us all on. My two boys are also proud Stingrays! We love spending time in nature, which inspired our recent campervan roadtrip, where we visited more than 70 National Park Service sites.

Born and raised in South Florida, I have always had a passion for the outdoors. Surfing, diving, and fishing are some of my favorite hobbies. My journey into the realm of education took a unique path. I discovered my love for working with children while directing children’s programs for several years at a private club. After graduating from college, my pursuit of a teaching career has led me to the Gulf Stream School; and I couldn’t be more thrilled to be a part of the team!

After growing up in Michigan and spending ten years in the CT/NY area, I decided I was done with cold, snowy winters. I moved to sunny Florida in 2004 with two of my best friends! My biggest passions in life are Early Childhood Education and Dance. I’ve been working in both fields my entire career. I have always been and forever will be a huge advocate for ‘learning through play.’ I spend most of my summers in my two favorite places, Port Austin, MI, and Nantucket, MA.

As a Florida native, I grew up loving the beach. On weekends I can be found kayaking, paddle boarding, and enjoying my time in the sun. As an alumna of GSS, I am happy to say that some of my second-grade classmates remain lifelong friends. In my years at GSS, I have taught PreK, Kindergarten, and Middle School English. My husband, Bryan, and I call GSS home as we have lived in one of the polo cottages on campus since 1999.

After growing up in Delray Beach, I have been proud to call Gulf Stream School my home since 2008. Shortly after being hired, I got married and started a family of my own. I am happy to have my two boys attend GSS and be a part of such a special little school by the sea. I am excited to be at school every day, and not only see so much growth from the children but also work with colleagues who are family. When I am not working, I love to spend time with my family, travel, go camping, and to the beach.

Gulf Stream School holds a very special place in my heart. Before having my two amazing boys (Carter, 15 and Cole, 10), I taught Kindergarten at GSS, and I am so excited to be back in the classroom and assisting Ms. Keenan this year. In my spare time, I enjoy cooking, traveling (especially to Texas since my whole family still lives there), fishing, going to the beach, and spending time with Carter and Cole. I can’t wait to get started and meet all of the amazing families!

I grew up in a small town in Austria and moved to Boca Raton in 2011. I attended a small high school and learned, first hand, the value of a close-knit community that such a school environment can provide. It helped me in so many ways! After high school I went to Florida Atlantic University, earning a degree in psychology. After graduating, I knew I wanted to work with kids, and I absolutely love what I do as a prekindergarten assistant. In my free time, I enjoy watching documentaries and spending time at the beach. In the winter, I like going back to Austria and skiing the slopes.

After growing up in New York and graduating college, I moved to sunny Florida. I have been here ever since and raised my three children here. I am a mom to two high-school-aged boys and a 22-year-old daughter. They keep me quite busy! My passion is teaching young children through play, creativity, and hands-on activity! I have taught for many years and just adore the connections I make with each child…and bringing out the unique special qualities within each of them!

Raised in Boynton Beach, I worked in marketing for several years before deciding to pursue a career in education. I find teaching very rewarding and I am grateful to spend my time doing what I love. My favorite part of being a teacher is being able to build a relationship with each student and foster a love for learning at such an early age. Outside of school, I enjoy spending time at the beach and traveling; Rhode Island and Italy are my favorite places.

I was born and raised in NY where I found my passion for teaching when my own children were young. I married the boy around the corner and raised two incredible young men and 3 dogs. I love books, being outdoors, and learning as much from my students as they learn from me.

I am originally from a small town in Virginia, but I moved to Florida in 2005 after meeting my (now) husband, Tim, at my sister’s wedding. Ever since I was young, playing school and teaching have been my favorite things to do. I taught for eight years prior to my son, Jax’s, birth. After he began school at GSS, I volunteered on campus as often as possible. During this time, I realized just how much I missed teaching. I am so excited to be back in the classroom and working with children this year. When not at school, I enjoy spending time with family, playing with my cats, going to Disney World, baking, and shopping.

I grew up in South Florida and throughout my childhood, I met many wonderful people who helped define the person I am today. I always enjoyed playing baseball as a kid, and was able to play in college at the University of Central Florida. After graduating, I had an opportunity to teach children and their caregivers in a fun, physically engaging environment. I took pride helping children achieve all those incredible milestones, from their first steps to mastering cartwheels and forward rolls. Sharing the parents’ excitement at their children’s accomplishments was always the highpoint of my day. I am excited to bring my experiences to Gulf Stream School and look forward to helping our students reach their full potential. In my off time, I enjoy exercising, being outdoors, and spending time with my family (that is about to grow).

I am a Physical Education teacher with a passion for physical fitness. I grew up in Melbourne, Australia, and moved to the States in 1993. I lived and taught in Connecticut but quickly grew tired of the cold and moved to sunny Florida in 2004. I am blessed to see our “little school by the sea” from two different perspectives: as a teacher and as a parent. My daughter Raven is class of 2027. I love watching the children grow and mature over the many years.

I am a native of Brazil who became a naturalized citizen in 2020. I speak Portuguese, Spanish, and English fluently. I have a passion for volleyball and you will frequently find me playing on the beach on the weekends. I love being around children while assisting in Kindergarten and teaching Spanish to my students from PreK to Grade 2. I feel extremely lucky to be a part of such a unique School community where I can also share my volleyball passion while coaching all age-levels and instill in my athletes the love of the sport I have played since I was a kid. Go Stingrays Volleyball! I find joy in being surrounded by nature while playing outdoor sports, going to the beach, going for walks with my lovely dog, doing pilates, traveling, spending time with family and friends, and enjoying a precious life!

I was born and raised in Delray Beach and had the privilege of attending Gulf Stream School. I am now a proud mother of 3 children who have all flourished in the Gulf Stream community. In my free time, I am an Uber driver to my children who are involved in tennis, soccer, and cheer. We also love performing our own version of Carpool Karaoke and attending the theater. Some of our recent favorites are Hamilton, Dear Evan Hansen, and Mean Girls. Ask any child around campus and they are sure to tell you that I am also known as the resident tooth puller!

I find great joy in sharing my passion with students in grades six through eight and providing them with a foundation of physical, Earth, and biological sciences. I love to go “forest bathing” and I’ve had the opportunity to do just that while exploring a variety of ecosystems on field trips to the Everglades, Canada, Crystal River, and several National Parks. My very favorite place on Earth is in the Adirondacks where I spend the summer reading, hiking, water skiing, and making memories with my family.

Growing up in the small rural Illinois town of Arcola prepared me well for teaching in an independent school. I was able to play numerous sports and the close-knit supportive community were great experiences that helped me to feel at home at Gulf Stream School. I’ve always enjoyed my days teaching math. I love having the opportunity to teach a range of middle school students. Whether I am helping 5th graders to add fractions in the morning or helping the 8th graders learn the quadratic formula in the afternoon it makes my days fulfilling. When I am at home, I enjoy reading, exercising, the beach, cooking, and hanging out with my dog, Scout. My wife, Shani, who teaches PreK, and I actually met as very young teachers at GSS and were married in November of 1993.

As a young girl, I loved helping my teachers in the classroom and felt overjoyed doing little tasks such as writing the date on the board, distributing papers, and assisting my classmates when needed. Decades later, a classroom continues to ignite that same inner joy and satisfaction. Being able to wake up with a smile each day, knowing I have the privilege of being a positive vessel in my students’ lives is why teaching is more than just my profession, but my passion and vocation. During my personal time, I enjoy gardening, simple DYI home projects, and relaxing at the beach. I am also an enthusiastic animal lover and devoted animal advocate. I currently reside with two precious and kind rescued fur babies!

Originally from Ithaca, New York, I grew up along the Jersey shore in Brielle, New Jersey where my parents, ardent sailors, instilled in their three children a love for travel, sailing all through New England in the summers. When I started my career in 1991 as a high school English teacher, little did I know that some thirty years later, I would still have the same unflinching desire to teach. Nothing excites me more than to teach children the love of reading. During summers, when Camp Dudley for boys in Westport, New York adopted another summer camp in Colchester, Vermont, I began each summer with my three young children in tow, to help begin the “Dudley” culture in Camp Dudley at Kiniya for girls where I took on a role of Leadership Director. Currently, as my children have all grown, I find great enjoyment in traveling, reading, and patiently attending to and awaiting the reblooms of my many flowering plants.

At Gulf Stream School, I will be teaching fifth and sixth grade science. I love sharing my passion for science and the natural world with my students. My graduate work in primatology led me to study monkeys in Gombe National Park, Tanzania. I worked as a Parks Naturalist for Broward County, with an expertise in South Florida’s plants and animals. When I am not outside observing wildlife or identifying plants, I like to go to the movies and make homemade pasta!

I am a Latin teacher extraordinaire who has been at GSS since 2007. A die-hard Phillies, Eagles, and all things Philadelphia fan, I grew up just over the bridge in New Jersey. I’m an encyclopedia of mythological knowledge and an expert storyteller. I enjoy authentic Italian cooking, hanging at the beach, strumming my ukulele, and playing Bridge with Mrs. Tkac every Sunday. I speak Italian fluently, and my most prized possession is my Oxford English Dictionary (all 13 volumes!), which I frequently peruse with Mrs. Bianco in our many explorations of etymologies.

I am a proud graduate of Rowan University. At the earliest opportunity, I moved to Florida, leaving the cold days and nights of winter behind me for good! Previously, I have taught at Pine Crest School in Boca Raton. The best part of teaching is doing what I love with people who share the same interests and passions as I do. When I am not with my students, you can find me somewhere playing volleyball, reading a book, learning new painting techniques, or playing outside with my dog, Moose!

I was born In New York, lived in Virginia, and settled in Kentucky, where I spent most of my life. I am an avid fan of the Kentucky Wildcats, and although basketball is my favorite, I enjoy all sports. Moving to Florida was a dream, as I wished to live closer to my family. When I visited the Gulf Stream School, it was love at first sight. I knew this was where I was meant to be. I’m excited to meet the students and collaborate with new colleagues. The love of my life is my 2-year-old yellow lab, Khaleesi. Although mischievous, she always brings a smile to my face. I enjoy art, reading, and traveling. I’m thrilled to be a part of the GSS community.

I am a native of Cali, Colombia and I became a naturalized citizen in 2017. I love to teach Spanish to both beginners and native speakers alike. The best part of my job is to be able to show my culture and open new possibilities for them to explore cultures. I love to visit my family, either at home in Colombia, in Oneonta, and in Tampa. I am a proud dog mom to Federico “Kiko,” my pequeño Colombian Miniature Pinscher. I love the warm weather in Florida because reminds me of my home city, Cali. During my free time, I love to go spend time with my husband, Juan “the only one” and go out to try different foods.

A native Floridian, I moved to Delray Beach twenty years ago from Miami. I am a wife, mother of three, and grandmother of four. I am a world traveler and love sharing my adventures with my students while playing the Atlas Game. I have a crafty creative side and am an organization guru. Teaching keeps me young and I enjoy the daily challenges of my profession. I am a master bridge player and have taught some of my younger colleagues the game. They call me the Baroness of Bulletin Boards.

I grew up just outside of Toronto, Canada, but my love for travel and lifelong learning has taken me on incredible journeys, allowing me to live and teach in Canada, Australia, and the United States. Fourteen years ago, I settled in Florida and happily made it my home. Teaching is not just a career for me—it’s a true passion. I find so much joy in creating engaging, dynamic learning environments where students feel excited to explore new ideas and push their boundaries. I believe that education is a two-way street, where I learn just as much from my students as they do from me. Outside the classroom, I love traveling the world, spending time with family and friends, reading and relaxing at the beach, and enjoying every moment I can with my rescue dog, Rico.

Born and raised in the area and a proud graduate of Gulf Stream School, I always knew I would end up reuniting with this special place. After 14 years of teaching middle school science at a nearby school, I am excited about helping students build a strong foundation in math. I also love coaching sports and watching student-athletes experience all of the valuable lessons learned from healthy competition. In my spare time, I enjoy being with my family and pursuing my lifelong passions of surfing and fishing. I am also a USCG-licensed captain and enjoy sharing my passions for the ocean with others.

I grew up in Dyer, Indiana, a small town just outside Chicago, Illinois, where my mother nurtured my early love for the arts. From a young age, I felt a natural pull toward creativity, finding joy in painting, mixed media, and pottery. My passion for art led me to Indiana University, where I studied art education, honed my talents, and discovered a deep love for ceramics. If you ever visit Indiana University’s campus, take a moment to stop by the gallery and see The Life Cycle, a cherished piece of mine that the university purchased. It still shines there, a tribute to my creativity and passion.

My love for cultural exploration then took me to Australia for a master’s program in cultural awareness, which further enriched my approach to both art and teaching. Afterward, I spent five wonderful years in England, teaching fine art and photography and working my way up to deputy head. Now, I’m settled with my family in Delray Beach, where, when I’m not sharing my compassion and creativity in the Gulf Stream School art room, you can find me supporting new mothers on their lactation journeys.

I was born in New Jersey but grew up in South Florida. Although I live near the beach, my favorite place to be is in the mountains and my favorite adventure companion is Bailey, my golden doodle! In my free time, you can find me traveling, riding my Peloton, and enjoying time with family and friends. I joined Gulf Stream School after working in the public school setting for many years. The best part about working at a school is building relationships with students, families, colleagues, and alumni. I love being part of a team that helps students reach their full potential!

Born and bred in New York, my husband and I left the cold and snow, in 2002, and headed south for a warmer climate. After getting settled, I was lucky enough to be hired at Gulf Stream School to work in the Business Office. Although I’m not in the classroom, I love seeing the children year after year growing and thriving in this environment. When I’m not at work I enjoy riding my bike, crafting, and going to the beach.  But my greatest love is spending time with my family, dog Charlie and baking (which my co-workers will attest to).

After working 19 years as a dormitory parent, 10 years as a student advisor, and 14 years in the Development Office at a boarding school in Massachusetts, I find myself at GSS. I love working in the school environment and seeing the students excited to be at school. I am fortunate to have a family of two daughters, four grandchildren (one who is currently a student at the boarding school), and a very supportive husband.

I was born in Romania, migrated in 1984, and settled in Florida in 1996. I have been blessed to be a part of the Gulf Stream School family since 2014. My day is filled with calculations and numbers, so it’s nice to work on such a beautiful campus where I can look out and see the kids enjoy their days learning and playing sports. Recently, I was asked to help in the classroom and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I am a wife and a mother of two wonderful children, both of whom attend GSS. Off-campus, we enjoy spending time together, walking our community, and discovering new places in Florida to explore.

Born in Mt. Kisco, NY, I moved to Florida in 1981 where I continued to work at IBM Boca Raton for 26 years. When IBM moved to North Carolina, I was fortunate enough to be hired by Gulf Stream School in 1995. I love interacting with the children, parents, alumni, and past parents. My daughter attended GSS for middle school and has wonderful memories. I love traveling to California, New York, and Boston to visit family and friends. My greatest joy is spending time with my three grandsons and soon to be four grandsons!

After growing up in Maine, I spent the majority of my professional career as an educator in the Northeast. I spent eight years in an English classroom before transitioning into school administration. Prior to our move to Florida — a return for my wife, Hillary ’98 — we spent seven years at Fessenden School in Newton, Massachusetts, where I helped direct their boarding program. More recently, I’ve shifted into the development world, and I absolutely love working with families to develop meaningful partnerships that help the school advance its mission. Our two daughters, Maisie and Stella, are current GSS students, and their little brother, Raife, is chomping at the bit to become a Stingray, too. When I’m not working or parenting, you can probably find me out and about training for an endurance race.

I am originally from New Jersey. I grew up playing “school” and would pretend I was the teacher. I loved making tests, worksheets, and report cards. My entire professional career has been in education, first as a classroom teacher, moving to administration, admissions, and learning support. One of the best things that has happened to me since moving to Florida two years ago was becoming a part of the Gulf Stream School community. I love my position as a learning specialist, working closely with wonderful students and faculty members. Nothing, other than my own children, has given me as much joy as helping kids find success. What could be better than doing just that in sunny Florida at Gulf Stream School? Nothing comes to mind.

I was born and raised in Lake Forest, IL. I am the 4th of five children and my mom always joked that I wanted to “help” my brothers (by bossing them around) get organized for school and that was apparently the beginning of my love for education and helping kids. I started my career as a 5th grade teacher in the underserved communities of Chicago and San Francisco. While teaching in San Francisco, and getting my master’s degree at night, I recognized, in each class I taught, a handful of bright students who just weren’t succeeding due to not reading at grade level. This served as the catalyst for obtaining further training in multi-sensory education and subsequently starting my own educational therapy practice and consultancy which I have had for almost 20 years. I love that every day is different because I often don’t know exactly how I will meet my students “where they are”, and help them work through the challenges they are facing at any given time. I feel privileged to now be able to do what I do in a school setting at Gulf Stream. My daughter is in 2nd grade and we moved to the area in August just to be at GSS – we love this special place! When we are not at school we are either at the beach, swimming, reading, glamping, or eating sushi.
