Gulf Stream employs a full-time Learning Specialist to work individually with students who need academic support outside of the classroom.

Our Individual Academic Support Plans

To assess new students, the Learning Specialist observes them in classrooms and meets with teachers and administrators to develop individual academic support plans to fit the students’ needs. The school can also provide accommodations for students who have received a psycho-educational evaluation in order to help them succeed in the school’s regular academic program. The Learning Specialist assists parents with referrals to local psychologists, speech and language pathologists, and occupational therapists, when needed. Gulf Stream also provides vision, hearing, speech/language and occupational screenings in grades PK3, PK4, and Kg.
